Our Sisters in Action

Annual Philanthropy Event

Dancing with the Taus

Every winter semester, our chapter holds "Dancing with the Taus"! Students, sisters, and anyone else interested, competes in a 2-round dance competition in front of a panel of judges. The winner of the competition selects which charity they want 10% of our proceeds to go to, the rest goes straight to HAVEN of Oakland County, our local philanthropy! Last year we raised over $3,000!

Other Philanthropy

Domestic Violence Awareness Week (DVAW)

Delta Tau sisters spent an entire week in October collecting donations and spreading awareness for domestic violence. We raised over $500 for HAVEN of Oakland county!

Events for DVAW included:
Info Day: sisters took time to spread their knowledge of domestic violence and gave out reference cards for those who may need help
These Hands Don't Hurt: students and professors signed out placed their handprint on our banner, pledged to not hurt their loved ones
Donut Let Love Hurt: we sold donuts for a donation of any amount
Collection Day: sisters collected donations for HAVEN and items they need at their shelter
Pancakes for a Purpose: our chapter held a purple pancake dinner for students on campus and raised over $300

Smash Your Finals

Smash Your Finals is held every spring, just before finals! Anyone walking by can purchase water balloons to throw at sisters, or for a little extra an entire bucket of water to dump on a sister of their choice!

Minute To Win It

During winter semester of 2019, our chapter held a "Minute to Win it" type event, where teams of 2 played multiple games from the TV show "Minute to Win it". The team who completed the most mini games in the allotted minute, won a prize! Sisters had a fun time keeping score and watching the teams compete in the games, while raising over $130 for HAVEN!
